I think I'm both a sketcher and a flybytheseatofmypants-er. Sometimes it seems like I can pull a design out of my bum (no offense intended) but other times I have to work my arse off (again, no offense intended) to get anything to remotely flow. Then there are the times where I'll see something (could be anything at all) and it just talks to me. I'll be inspired to create something. I might sketch it out, or I just just go for it.
Sometimes, I'll be at a LSS (local scrap store for you non-scrappers), and see something that just screams at me - and I'll have so much fun creating with it. Other times, something will scream at me, I'll buy it - and will totally waste it on a flop. Am I alone in my floppiness?
Someone asked me today what was on my scrapbooking wish list. Definitely something to think about. Before getting married, I'd just order or buy whatever I wanted. Now, I try to be considerate and think about what is better for us and not just me. Here's a list of things I think I want to add to my collection:
- Fontwerks stamps (Shapes, Spheres, Henna, & Flower Power)
- The Big Picture book by Stacy Julian
- Nikon D20 Digital Camera (a girl can dream right? I said it was a list of things I wanted, not necessarily a list of things I'm going to get any time soon!)
- Stampin' Up Tall Tales Alphabet stamps (why oh why didn't I order them when I could have?)
- Stampin' Up On The Spot stamps (see above comments)
- Stampin' Up Spot background stamp (Yes, I've learned my lesson!!)
- Technique Tuesday Infinite Wisdom Stamps
- Technique Tuesday Hanging By a Thread Stamps
- Technique Tuesday Old World Squares Stamps (can you tell I {heart} Technique Tuesday?)
- Probably anything new by Foofala! (gosh I love her stuff!)
- Anything new from Scenic Route Paper Company
You know, I can never have too many supplies. Sorry, Steve. It's impossible. I know I can outgrow my studio, but there will never be TOO many things to play with.
The list has me thinking... what is the one thing, that if you saw it in your LSS, you would without a doubt buy it right then and there? That's going to take some thinking on my part. Well, perhaps any of the above products would be immediately put into my cart!!
Creative wishes your way,
~heather
P.S. Does anyone know where I can get my hands on some 4x4 blocks a'la Donna Downey? I've got an itch to create some of those blocks!
